5.2.10 Luminaires provided with or designed for use with non-detachable flexible cables or ; O: P. r) Y3 y) B" S
cords shall have a cord anchorage such that the conductors are relieved from strain, including
% u8 F$ X& x7 \8 K; |0 Ktwisting, where they are connected to the terminals, and such that their covering is protected , ^/ y% p* d$ ~1 e- ^7 w: u4 r+ G
from abrasion. It shall be clear how the relief from strain and the prevention of twisting is / {5 b7 M& U0 Z3 U
intended to be effected. For luminaires supplied without a cable or cord, suitable test cables or % E2 V$ C. D7 p
cords of the largest and smallest sizes recommended by the luminaire manufacturer shall be $ C- E ]' S2 \2 y

It shall not be possible to push the flexible cable or cord into the luminaire to such an extent
8 m, C* i) ^& Rthat the cable or cord is subjected to undue mechanical or thermal stress. Methods such as " [% s: h& Y& I7 u' O
tying the cable or cord into a knot or tying the ends with string shall not be used.
% Y% K: Y& f) G4 P/ h0 oCord anchorage shall be of insulating material or be provided with a fixed insulating lining if an # _, t2 m5 \ F" I5 U6 F, U
insulation fault on the cable or cord could make accessible metal parts live. |
