10.1 Surge test
- a# d( J2 S, y9 UThe insulation on CLASS II apparatus between ACCESSIBLE parts or parts connected to them and0 e G8 s6 ~8 O" M1 N4 B+ P4 e
HAZARDOUS LIVE parts, shall withstand surges due to transients, caused for example by3 Q; |' K) V5 u
thunderstorms and entering the apparatus through the antenna TERMINAL.
4 n# L) K. o# KCompliance is checked by the following test:

1 \" L! E8 o$ v. o$ j– TERMINALS for the connection of antenna and MAINS supply TERMINALS,
! a! r0 R/ \/ s+ E' mand between
; M- D- o) o9 k* k– MAINS supply TERMINALS and any other TERMINAL in case of apparatus providing supply x9 n& y" m, B; f7 l" E
voltages to other apparatus with antenna TERMINALS,* |" M% w; h3 u) O* N
is subjected to 50 discharges at a maximum rate of 12/min, from a 1 nF capacitor charged to1 O, c' }, k) @* U2 G
10 kV in a test circuit, as shown in Figure 5a.

After the test, the tested insulation shall comply with the requirements of 10.3.; s" G* G# l/ D$ V
