The insulation on CLASS II apparatus between ACCESSIBLE parts or parts connected to them and- d4 d) n2 G' D: i0 e" p
HAZARDOUS LIVE parts, shall withstand surges due to transients, caused for example by
; |2 b G3 W( k+ @7 q# Pthunderstorms and entering the apparatus through the antenna TERMINAL.2 o9 H h, _* L. v8 y- Q
Compliance is checked by the following test:
4 V, c1 g7 e9 z MThe insulation between1 f4 Q. M/ k/ x- n
– TERMINALS for the connection of antenna and MAINS supply TERMINALS,
; X- U- X& v" Pand between
8 l* A! n K+ u$ J' o+ k" Y– MAINS supply TERMINALS and any other TERMINAL in case of apparatus providing supply Y5 H9 [2 j3 d2 h4 [
voltages to other apparatus with antenna TERMINALS,
$ r: X2 l) f/ m }is subjected to 50 discharges at a maximum rate of 12/min, from a 1 nF capacitor charged to$ Q* C6 @* Q& G+ K7 s+ C
10 kV in a test circuit, as shown in Figure 5a.
