tools and the battery packs for such tools. This annex applies to tools incorporating detachable,2 e( y9 K9 C6 r% ^
integral and separable battery packs. The maximum rated voltage for tools and battery packs is

Battery tools covered by this annex are not considered to be class I, class II, or class III tools

shock hazard is considered to exist only between parts of opposite polarity.# L% V( D9 u' v- ]& M% ~
Battery packs for tools covered under this annex intended to be charged by a non-isolated0 t: v; ~1 Z2 p1 u
charger shall be evaluated by this annex and standard. When evaluating a battery pack for

insulation, the battery pack shall be fitted to the intended charger.
2 v) w4 _- P; B7 N4 v2 E+ g/ gAll clauses of this standard apply unless otherwise specified in this annex. If a clause is stated8 p) c0 Y" a5 g0 e
in the annex, the requirements replace the requirements of the standard.1 H) S; L' P: t1 _/ V
For the purpose of the tools covered by this annex, the term “mains switch” as it appears in the
2 w& I6 [6 a. |& S; Fstandard is understood to refer to the power switch of the battery-operated tool.1 f6 w1 e& V0 K, k
This annex is not intended to apply to tools using general purpose batteries installed by the
8 C4 k0 b( C, T' T; I; T! U. Ruser, and this annex alone will not be sufficient to ensure all hazards are considered for these
1 S# x s% J, V: u% B& eproducts’ “battery packs” .
