are defined as components consisting of two or more wires joined' U) x7 K4 _4 V% x; V
electrically and/or mechanically, and may include connectors, plugs,
/ ^! A5 I" n) ^1 Kstrain reliefs, splices, etc. When assembled at an off-site location,' c& H, F: o5 J- ^# I
traceability for components used to construct a wiring harness is
( F2 K. M3 y- m8 G, y4 {8 S. r8 vnot possible at an end-product factory location. This program can
- x+ y g6 E! R" K" kbe used to provide this traceability. Each wiring harness is normally
, T2 \1 r# f/ A0 yconstructed in accordance with a harness diagram and is generally
" d4 q. G" L- g2 f: fdesigned for a specific application that is indicated on a diagram
9 {: P. U+ c$ v- i( Z5 e7 ]or carton marking. These wiring harnesses are not intended for2 U6 R4 h, X ?4 M% P* t& {
field installation. An assembly consisting solely of a cord set, power
- |$ j& y& m, M& k+ O. ] Z. c3 wsupply cord or power supply cord attached to an appliance such as+ v2 {. v$ P8 T! }) t$ w" w
a motor is not eligible for coverage under this program.

% h* b; T, V- R @An off-site fabricator assembles a wiring harness in accordance with
( v+ z/ J X3 [; R8 Ra harness diagram, print or other specification from an end-product
9 ^8 D! q7 U# N ?* S" _9 i" Fmanufacturer that details construction elements and components
! q% \8 U6 `7 Vto be used in assembling a harness. A harness manufacturer
: r2 v5 W/ p1 p1 o5 \3 ?will assemble a harness in accordance with these specifications: R$ b2 \4 z& v, [9 d+ M7 f' `
and, provided that a wiring harness is in compliance with these/ S @# z. k8 a: [
specifications, it may be shipped with the UL Mark. Traceability for

and Follow-Up Service programs. |
