47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.; G) |8 I. ~7 d+ S$ Q( P0 Z( X
47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:9 q8 }0 k" C+ b3 e6 k) e: X
a) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²3 \! b2 J$ E: s% r( z, e
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or6 q4 H( E& n; R/ D. D7 K$ [) L
file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one
m3 u% O9 P: P/ Dlocation, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific
7 m- i6 N7 ^& `- j7 e5 c+ Gmanufacturing location of the AWM.. B% I) T% `8 g, i( u. B G8 v( n
Other markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in

47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked
