We have noticed that certification bodies are treating products incorporating laser
components in different ways. We at SEMKO have always measured the laser emission from
# |2 E0 ^) o5 G/ S# @" Y. a0 ?5 nthe product when the laser component are installed and are in operation as in normal use of
0 T7 j6 G$ R6 Q& [! Vthe product. The laser emission is also measured when abnormal operation of the product is
2 q$ }' b  r. Z) r6 Q& W( dsimulated.
( L2 j! J3 @8 i9 S1 XWe are doing the measurements regardless whether the laser component, for instance a laser
reader head, is separately "laser tested" or not.

normative references in IEC 60950, 60950-1 or IEC 60065, as applicable.
