accessories). The unit can be used with or without a constant water flowing (in+ p, r/ u" K/ \; H4 Y2 |) Z
accordance with the manual instructions). What should be the temperature of8 D2 S. R7 j, M1 L
the water during the thermal tests?
9 ^9 m) r, v) f- h$ C+ c( W% hDecision: The applicable standard is IEC/EN 60335-1. The thermal tests have to be4 N: j# K) P4 z6 J
carried out according to clause 11 (heating) and clause 19 (abnormal
' S* V, w$ ~$ ]conditions) of IEC/EN 60335-1. If according to the manual instructions the1 e, l- p& h& ?7 z# A0 J6 |% t/ z8 H9 A
appliance can be used without water flowing, we have to consider this situation& L* Y2 C# M8 P
as worst case: all tests have to be performed without water flowing. At the
$ k" V% }% P6 ^! b( nbeginning of the tests, the water shall be at room temperature (25°C). If the
8 K5 O+ s; B# l; N! x2 ^appliance is provided for use with water flowing only, the heating test (clause4 |' _. x, I9 D& c
11) shall be started with water at room temperature (25°C) but flowing. For the
9 A, D! i# T: [6 c" i9 N }$ x; ]abnormal conditions test (clause 19), the water flowing has to be stopped+ U Z6 t0 \! s6 J
unless there is a monitoring circuit to switch off the appliance in case of water/ k# m( c' m6 z
flow interruption. At the beginning of the test the water shall be at room* Z# `/ |" X8 m! N1 r
