There is no dimensional or constructional requirement for insulation in thin sheet material

Insulation in thin sheet materials permitted for SUPPLEMENTARY INSULATION and REINFORCED* [+ r4 ?6 l" c. E
INSULATION (see Figure F.15), irrespective of the distance through insulation, provided that all
9 K& N% P$ Q5 }8 Rof the following apply:
0 U7 I+ u' c4 F7 a− two or more layers are used;
; c: E$ Y+ r. Y ?- Z) k− the insulation is within the equipment ENCLOSURE;
! V8 j6 M0 O( T− the insulation is not subject to handling or abrasion during OPERATOR servicing; and
" H" L$ n I6 Y0 c" C' a− the requirements and tests of 2.10.5.7 (for separable layers) or 2.10.5.8 (for nonseparable. T5 m. q8 K2 V
layers) are met.

or more layers can be

For insulation in separable thin sheet layers, in addition to the requirements of 2.10.5.6,

will pass the electric strength test for SUPPLEMENTARY INSULATION; or3 W+ R# C0 ]$ X2 F6 ^
− SUPPLEMENTARY INSULATION shall consist of three layers of material for which all
6 ~) e$ X; Q0 zcombinations of two layers together will pass the electric strength test for SUPPLEMENTARY5 [# M" J8 O5 C

− REINFORCED INSULATION shall consist of at least two layers of material, each of which will
