Three test samples, each individual sample consisting of three or more layers of non-separable
: e3 u. S/ B0 G. }! O! b+ s* N* Rthin sheet material forming REINFORCED INSULATION, are used. One sample at a time is fixed to, J; p, m; `% Y: {" J( d! l9 o/ \
the mandrel of the test fixture (Figure 14) as shown in Figure 15.

using an appropriate clamping device. The mandrel is rotated by hand without jerks

If a sample breaks during rotation where it is fixed to the mandrel or the clamping device, this

any other place, the test has failed.

$ y& i" [: H' N% Elong, is placed along the surface of the sample, hanging down on each side of the mandrel. ~) J0 g: A8 M2 ]* Q
(see Figure 16). The surface of the foil in contact with the sample shall be conductive, not
. v3 F. L8 U1 R, o4 p! |oxidised or otherwise insulated. The foil is positioned so that its edges are not less than 18 mm
; `, {% T- f( g9 u$ k3 {from the edges of the sample (see Figure 17). The foil is then tightened by two equal weights,

While the mandrel is in its final position, and within the 60 s following the final positioning, a

INSULATION, but not less than 5 kV.
