8.2.1 Luminaires shall be so constructed that their live parts are not accessible when the7 a0 l& k: z9 b& M- x
luminaire has been installed and wired as in normal use, and when it is opened as necessary for replacing lamps or (replaceable) starters, even if the operation cannot be achieved by hand.
9 P' S. \8 q- K5 ?- ^" MBasic insulated parts shall not be used on the outer surface of the luminaire without
5 m! ~: c8 r, L5 N1 Tappropriate protection against accidental contact.9 N8 Y* j' M% f: W
NOTE 1 Examples of basic insulated parts are cables intended for internal wiring, controlgear for building-in etc.; _& E8 t5 M" D d9 U
No access to live parts with the standard test finger is permitted when the luminaire has been y5 Z, n4 E: X
installed and/or assembled for normal use and, in addition, under the same conditions:
- c/ Z' _5 @* Q( o; }]– for portable luminaires and adjustable luminaires, no access to basic insulated parts with
$ Z" n2 w3 U: x3 f$ ?- S7 Jthe standard test finger is permitted, and
" l" z' z$ g0 s' n– for wall-mounted luminaires, within arms reach, there shall be no access to basic insulated4 f$ i m3 P+ }
parts from the outside of the luminaire by means of a Ø 50 mm probe according to Figure 1$ @- _( N" F( @# ], V8 I4 b
in IEC 61032.$ P! W. G; a. ^2 S
NOTE 2 In the context of this section, wall mounted luminaires may need to be considered as portable luminaires8 t% a5 T1 ~" V6 b) D3 D D2 }
when their mounting and supply connection are as described under the definition 1.2.9 of this standard.
