For thyristor (SCR, TRIAC, GTO, MCT and etc), it will get three pins. Only the Cathode and the Anode will carry the major currents. Hence, the corresponding junctions will be the hotest.

Perhaps, you may consider to put your thermal couple
) I) U6 x' u. t: u( N$ z* m - on the soldering pad of either Cathode and the Anode pin if your thyristor is purely plastic pakage,
