Job Description – Safety Test Engineer, DCE& I3 h( M& q4 v% w( ^

Responsibilities:
* h% r! Y! ^2 p8 m' T1. Perform pre-submittals safety design review and analysis of proposed Purchase for Resale (PFR) products, product review and testing 5 I/ q* `" d# N
2. Critical component drawing reviews $ _) S Z! X' n& K
3. Assist the PFR vendors with interfacing with the Agencies, i.e. CCC, UL, TUV etc
. y' n# p/ ~0 D5 S# t+ S6 E' @) B4. Perform CEA-CEB19 standard testing and all internal Bose DCE Safety tests, i.e. DC offset testing for passive speaker testing on PFR vendor products
7 r. ?) f3 Z: o" I" q. M5. Support CCC submittals for Bose USA designed products
% G7 S* j+ ~- ^* Y1 h: X* t6. Handle alternate construction submittals with CCC, UL, and TUV etc
. G/ r) L3 V5 z5 e% h7. Perform bi-annual follow-up inspections at the PFR vendors’ factories to verify the product has not changed ; c) x; l& E& S) F
8. Perform bi-annual CCC product verification review and testing for product Mfg in China
( W3 I3 n: ~4 X9 X9. Support Agency follow-up inspections at PFR vendors factories and resolve any non-conformances
+ | G+ a# m! O3 x# Q% r. y10. Interface with the Chinese Agency CQC to help to resolve issues related to current certifications

12. Perform Energy Efficiency testing on new PFR products/ power supplies at each DP/MP phase and create reports 0 m9 a d r8 d' X
13. Perform Internal Bose procedure Safety Awareness review on PFR products
* h3 _, t( G8 Z$ {, t7 g5 @% C/ }3 B14. Product Store display design review for displays to be installed in third party retail stores and Bose stores for product demos9 f. |8 C1 ^' ]' O8 R: |- V
15. FINS (customer returns with possible safety issues) review for locally returned products
5 r9 a, U/ y3 E$ h- ~16. Keep on top of changing local regulations so that the Design community can be advised of possible standard changes impacting current product and future designs

Requirements:
- E- i' ? [; R0 J" D \• Minimum Electrical Tech degree and two to five years of applicable work experience in dealing with International Safety Agencies, UL. TUV, Intertek, CQC etc../ ^. m. d3 {. }7 W
• Must have a working knowledge of UL/IEC60065 or similar standards with testing and Safety Agency interface experience.
9 q' C( a$ O! s• Hands on familiarity with test equipment, Oscilloscopes, DMM, etc., and ability to perform all necessary safety testing preferred. ! U/ z4 F6 \8 }
• Must be proactive and able to work independently with the ability to manage and coordinate several projects in parallel.
