47 Surface Marking of AWM
2 u8 N- H( S8 C1 b+ B& d$ p# q47.1 Surface marking is not required for appliance wiring material.& T! [: q# q P
47.2 When surface marking referencing ²AWM² is used, the marking shall contain the following elements:
8 Q. x0 B4 @. i( T2 ca) Wire/cable designation: ²AWM.²$ \& W# D2 H- u! W4 v
b) Name of the organization responsible for the AWM, trade name, other applicable mark, or. ^5 U! R/ c- G
file number. When the organization responsible for the AWM produces AWM in more than one
# A& h0 y/ V# \8 D1 Zlocation, an additional distinctive marking shall be provided that identifies the specific" X) M- o: K5 @- F/ B; }
manufacturing location of the AWM.
) d. t* O# Z4 A8 rOther markings such as wire size, number of conductors, and similar data, are determined to be in4 p4 B3 W7 i9 c- r, N" U1 h9 ^! d
compliance with this requirement when they are not confusing or misleading.
# [- r9 ?% T l& ^2 j% h' k47.3 For a cable that contains a conductive polymeric shield, the jacket or marker tape shall be marked
% X% D3 R! U9 m1 Y3 s% u²Conductive Shield,² ²Contains Polymeric Conductive Shield,² or equivalent. |
