Question:
5 T& y) ]7 ]* g, tIt is very common to use modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12, RJ-45), accessible to the
" Y) F5 w& M2 |" g6 A# `& tusers, for a variety of transmission functions, both telecommunication and data.
, F. Y/ N6 ?  a& l0 a- g2 |7 PUnfortunately, RJ-11 modular connectors easily mate with other configurations of modular
connectors: RJ-12, RJ-45. This sub-clause permits marking only for connectors accessible
to Service Personnel and, on the other hand, relying on configuration as a means of
9 |6 K2 }; ^9 f) Epreventing miss-mating is unrealistic.
How shall these connectors be tested?.
Decision:
5 k/ J, n. d: C& QIf there is a possibility of miss-mating of modular connectors (e.g. RJ-11, RJ-12 etc.)
+ |% K' b0 O, k4 r7 g) h" Taccessible for the user, tests have to be made to verify that the SELV limits remain.
If the voltage of the TNV-circuit is known this value is used, otherwise the test generator of
6.2.1.3 (Figure 15A) is used for testing. (See also OSM-EE Decision 98/6)
