h0 [) V6 `- c) }accessories). The unit can be used with or without a constant water flowing (in* B( }0 @! n! K6 c
accordance with the manual instructions). What should be the temperature of# J( P, c7 k. Y0 k; t
the water during the thermal tests?
" H; M$ g0 w5 Y8 @2 |Decision: The applicable standard is IEC/EN 60335-1. The thermal tests have to be
1 W3 D- g% l5 W% o7 I7 c' hcarried out according to clause 11 (heating) and clause 19 (abnormal
2 r: a- v+ U- M8 L2 |9 fconditions) of IEC/EN 60335-1. If according to the manual instructions the
! y6 T9 ]7 e. X2 i; _appliance can be used without water flowing, we have to consider this situation
" G {7 T) |& Zas worst case: all tests have to be performed without water flowing. At the
l- w. a1 C# j6 D7 r: Gbeginning of the tests, the water shall be at room temperature (25°C). If the
& i; x0 l5 v1 P# r& V2 mappliance is provided for use with water flowing only, the heating test (clause
3 Z2 T8 s; v/ U* m9 L11) shall be started with water at room temperature (25°C) but flowing. For the
) }/ }; Y7 h5 g- Z# ]8 R$ d% Pabnormal conditions test (clause 19), the water flowing has to be stopped" o; }% y: M0 [( l2 d& ^5 c, P5 Z
unless there is a monitoring circuit to switch off the appliance in case of water
# A, O g- @4 Dflow interruption. At the beginning of the test the water shall be at room0 [6 ? q% R2 Z8 ?/ j) S
temperature (25°C).
