The specimens are tested by means of the apparatus shown in figure 41. This apparatus has- |4 y) T( j; m9 J! N- ~
a rectangular blade (see figure 41a) with an edge 0,7 mm wide, to be used in the case of1 i! p) ~; b, U6 ?: b: w
round pins, or a blade having a round shape (see figure 41b), with a diameter of 6 mm and an- O9 j5 a! r$ H
edge of 0,7 mm, in other cases.
: K9 d/ f/ U# `The specimens are placed in position as shown in figure 41.( r* f) A$ s- b- J! R
The force applied through the blade is 2,5 N.8 e$ ]! c. ?5 K! H" x7 }* n8 r
The apparatus, with the specimen in position, is maintained for 2 h in a heating cabinet at a
% |% p# h& p. H5 P% ~temperature of (200 ± 5) °C.' h$ M; L' d4 n# q
The specimen is then removed from the apparatus and, within 10 s, cooled by immersion in9 |4 `4 ` N0 {) S

The thickness of the insulation remaining at the point of impression is measured and shall not% o/ i: f2 r2 `$ `+ N4 Z
have been reduced by more than 50 % of its original value measured at the start of the test.) K$ T0 N$ _1 p
NOTE The values 2,5 N and (200 ± 5) °C are provisional.
